GRAiNEY PICTURES & co-founders, The Sibs, have an extensive and award-winning track record in feature documentary. Currently on their slate is Game Day! College Football to the Max, an IMAX 3D feature with Executive Producer Coach Pete Carroll and Win Forever. The film will immerse audiences in the hardest hitting rivalries in college football and is being released by IMAX® Filmed Entertainment in IMAX 3D. The Sibs are Writing & Directing the film, and Producing with Academy Award® nominated Diane Roberts, with Academy Award® nominated David Douglas as Cinematographer.
The Sibs were Knighted in 2006 for Freedom’s Fury, their award winning film about the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 and the infamous “Blood in the Water” water polo match between Hungary and the Soviet Union at the Melbourne Olympics. Narrated by Mark Spitz, the film was Executive Produced by Lucy Liu, Quentin Tarantino, Amy Sommer and Andy Vajna. It debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2006, went Number 1 at Hungarian Box Office and was selected to screen for US Congress in 2007. Lui, Tarantino, Vajna, Producer Kristine Lacey and Editor Michael Rogers were also Knighted in 2010. Vajna's scripted feature Children of Glory was based on Freedom's Fury.
GRAiNEY PICTURES is currently in post on Rob Cohen's feature documentary The History of Canadian Humour; if it’s not too much trouble, with Canadian co-production partner Amaze Film & TV and Canadian distributor Alliance Films. Made In Association with Foundation Films, The Sibs are Producing alongside Director\Writer Rob Cohen, with Editor Dean Gonzalez and Megan Raney Aarons DP. The documentary profiles a long list of comedic greats, including Mike Myers, Michael J. Fox & Dan Aykroyd.
The Sibs recently Wrote and Produced Redlight for Priority Films and Guggenheim & Girvin Productions. This feature documentary about child sex trafficking in Cambodia features Nobel Peace Prize nominees Somaly Mamm and Mu Sochua. After festival acclaim, the film debuted on Showtime (Sept 2010). The Sibs, Lucy Liu, Hugh Bell, Kerry Girvin & Monika Lenczewska also filmed in India January 2010, for the upcoming PBS \ ITVS doc & narrative TV special based on the best selling novel Half The Sky. Other international documentary production credits for GRAiNEY PICTURES include Prisoners of Faith for NGO One Voice. The Sibs & DP Suat Kutlug filmed throughout Israel, the West Bank & Gaza during the 2005 Palestinian Presidential elections.
